Indonesian Airport Operator to Build New Terminal

(11-AUG-2010) Indonesian airport operator PT Angkasa Pura I will invest IDR2tn ($224m) to renovate the Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali to increase international passenger capacity.

The company will build a new 126,000m² terminal to handle international passengers and install a modern baggage handling system, according to The Jakarta Post.

The airport will be able to handle 13-14 million international passengers each year after the renovation is complete in 2013.

PT Angkasa Pura I president director Tommy Soetomo said that the airport renovation will be internally funded and supported by bank loans.
